Parkinson¡¯s Disease and the Eye Symptom

Abstract
Parkinson¡¯s disease is a neurodegenerative disease by cognitive dysfunction, neurological abnormalities, motor dysfunction, and sensory dysfunction. Among the sensory functions, various symptoms appear in the eyes. The eye symptoms that can occur with Parkinson¡¯s disease may include decreased visual acuity, colour vision abnormality contrast sensitivity, blinking, abnormal eye movements, diplopia, hallucinations, and visual field. In particular, mainly blue and green abnormalities in color vision. In addition, if the number of blinks is decreases, and the blinking time is delayed, which may cause dry eye. When abnormal in eye movements, it appears with convergence insufficiency. Hence, sometimes it appears there are hallucinations that diplopia occurs. It is associated with glaucoma and may cause visual field.
Along with drug treatment, eye examination and general eye condition will be checked, and steady management will be required.
